The Chevy Colorado has been around since 2004 as a substitute for its predecessor, the S-10. 18 years later, Colorado has become a well-loved option in the compact pickup truck market. The truck is affordable, practical, and still offers enough power to haul small trailers and boats. It comes in both two- and four-wheel drive options and has a variety of trims to choose from.

Assertive Power for Hauling

The standard model comes with a 2.5-liter, 4-cylinder engine that boasts 200 horsepower, 191 lbs of torque, and 3,500 lbs of towing capacity. However, if you need something with a little more power, there’s also an available 3.6-liter engine with 308 horsepower, 275 lbs of torque, and 7000 lbs of towing capability.  

The Trailering Package consists of a 2-inch hitch, a 7-wire electrical harness, automatic locking rear differential, and more. You can also use the vehicle’s Hitch Guidance function to guide you via the rear camera so you can easily line up the hitch with your trailer.

Enduring Utility

The Colorado is built to be put to work. It comes with a set of four cargo tie-downs to secure items in the cargo area. The EZ-Lift and Lower tailgate help you raise and lower cargo with the assistance of a torsion bar. It also locks with the same key you use for the ignition. ZR2 Off-Road Package includes DSSV Multimatic suspension dampers and a tall, wide stance that gives you better control when traversing rough terrain.

Improved Safety and Security

The Colorado comes with a suite of standard safety features, including six airbags, electronic traction control, HD Rear Vision Camera, and forward collision alert. In addition, the StabiliTrak system helps you improve control for emergency maneuvers and kicks in whenever it senses a change between your plotted direction and where the vehicle is actually going.  

If you’re sharing the vehicle with your teenager, you’ll appreciate the Teen Driver function that is standard on all models. This feature allows you to customize the settings associated with your teen’s key fob to promote safer driving behavior.
