Ready for a frozen treat? We always are, and when the hankering for ice cream hits, we hit up one of these great shops in and around Ottowa, OH in our Chevrolet Tahoe.

Tony’s at 1702 E Main St. is a local institution. They’re open from 10:30am until 9pm every day, and they serve up delicious, salt-of-the-earth food. They’ve got amazing onion rings and burgers in particular, but you’re definitely going to want to try their shakes and other frozen desserts. They’ve got the best stuff in town.

Try their brownie bowl, which is absolutely loaded up with brownie bits. Try their cyclones, too, which can be made to order and will fill you to bursting. Their soft serve can be swirled up with any candies you like: and if you’re a fan of peanut butter, try their nutty fudge bars.

The Scoop on Main

Over at 136 S Main St, The Scoop offers great food and desserts. They’re open from 7am until 8pm Tuesday through Friday. On Saturday, their hours are 8am until 2pm. On Sunday, they’re open from noon until 8pm. They’re closed on Monday. This is a great place for lunch or a treat, and the service is amazing.

They’ve got great soft serve in vanilla, chocolate, and twist, and they always have some dairy-free and seasonal options, too. They’ll do you a doggy dish or serve up your dessert in cones, bowls, waffle bowls, and gluten-free cones. You can also get great hard-scoop in a huge variety of flavors, and they do sundaes, malts, shakes, and twisters.

Knueven Creamery & Market

Head over about six miles west to 207 Main St. in Gilboa for delicious treats at Knueven Creamery & Market. You’ll get great shakes and sundaes and amazing service here. They’re open from 11am until 7pm Tuesday through Thursday and on Sunday. On Friday and Saturday, they stay open until 9pm. They’re closed on Mondays.

They make their own flavors here with their own farm milk, and you can choose from great flavors like apple crisp, buckeye, caramel delight, chocolate peanut butter, cranberry goat cheese, and pumpkin spice. They also have all the classic flavors, too, so you won’t be at a loss for what to choose. Or maybe you will: there are just too many flavors, and they’re all amazing. Be sure to try their honey lavender milkshake.
