Ohio is home to some of the best golf courses in the world, and many of them can be easily reached when driving from Ottawa, OH. From high-profile course designers to luxury amenities, northwest Ohio courses have a lot to offer.

1. Muirfield Village Golf Club

The 18-hole course at Muirfield Village Golf Club was designed by Jack Nicklaus and is known for its well-tended fairways and terrific views. The amenities at this course include a putting green, a driving range, and a pitching and chipping area. Located at 5750 Memorial Drive in Dublin, Muirfield Village is about an hour and 45 minute drive from Ottawa.

2. Inverness Club

The Inverness Club is a private, 18-hole golf course that opened in 1903. This course has hosted four US Opens, two PGA Championships, and many other high-level tournaments. Located in Toledo at 4601 Dorr St., it takes about an hour to reach Inverness Club. The course features five sets of tees to accommodate different skill levels. Club rentals and a driving range are available.

3. The Golf Club

The Golf Club is an 18-hole course designed by Pete Dye. This private course offers a variety of hole lengths and shapes in a country setting. Railroad ties are a design feature in many Pete Dye courses, and they are used at The Golf Club as well, particularly at the third hole. Another notable feature of this club is the locker room, which is extremely well done.

4. Moraine Country Club

This private, 18-hole golf course was originally designed by Alec “Nipper” Campbell. But the course was completely renovated in 2015 and 2016 by Keith Foster. The course is known for its rolling fairways and fast greens. Located in Kettering at 4075 Sern Blvd., Moraine is a roughly 90-minute drive from Ottawa.

5. Scioto Reserve Country Club

Scioto Reserve Country Club has an 18-hole course that stretches across rolling meadows, lush forests, and 12 lakes. This private course features seven sets of tees to accommodate the skill level of every golfer in your group. Scioto also offers cart rentals and a driving range. Located at 7383 Scioto Parkway in Powell, this course is a nearly two-hour drive from Ottawa.
